Overview

Job application is referred to the process of applying for a vacancy in an organization. Online job application refers to the application for a job through websites available on the internet. This method has been used over the past years beginning as early as the 90’s in Europe and United States. However this method has only been implied in Malaysia since a decade ago. This method as proved to gain importance as the time passes by and the world globalizes.

At this point, most people consider that filling an application form online for a job vacancy is known as online job application. However the context is much wider. This is so because some organizations prefer to have a formal way applying thru online where they request for a resume and expects its prospective employees to take initiative to get to know the organization and its functions.

Apart from having to fill a job application form, the applicant will also be required to prepare a cover letter or create a personal profile depending on the type of job they are applying for. In addition to these, certain organization that has created a website for online application may also include an online test to check the compatibility of applicants to the job available.

This method of application has gained support as the internet is being used as a tool of communication all over the world. It is a convenient method to connect with qualified candidate no matter where they are. Many organization has opted to recruiting thru online has it shortens the process of recruitment. Candidates also can obtain their reply as soon as possible when application is made online.



Online job application has helped to solve various problems related to the direct application such has the lack of funds and time constraints. Applicants are not required to fill up an application and send it to the organization via post services which not only requires the expenditure of funds but also takes a long time to be received by the receiving party with the possibility of the document being lost on the way.

In short, online application is being widely accepted and practiced as well as various techniques to improvise it are being implemented in order to reduce the pressure on Human Resource personals in the recruitment process. Applicants are therefore required to be alert of the changes that take place and should be able to respond as expected in order to compete in obtaining a job in this globalizing world.

The objectives we wish to achieve through this project are as follows:-

Through this project, we would like to reach out to the large applicant pool and provide them with routes they can use to obtain a job. We also would like to reach out to various organizations that has not developed an online application site to get a view of it importance in this 21st century.
        
   
               

Introduction To Online Job Application


These project paper explains about the aspect we will discuss in the web that our group is about to design. It consists of the various types of online application available with detailed explanation of the role of online application in the recruitment process. The webs that will be designed consist of three pages with various links and java application included in it to ensure that it gains interest of viewer to view it.

The main target of our web would be to interest applicants whom have not been exposed to online application and also towards fresh graduate. It is also a means for us to guide people in the processes involved in applying for job through websites. It also provides information of the significance of online job application in the human resource recruitment process and ways it can improvise the recruitment processes.

These project aims to build technical skills involving various applications such as Photoshop and Microsoft Office FrontPage to create our own website or webpage which will be helpful in our future. It also aims to enhance our knowledge related to the use of internet settings and applications.
